Today in Science

7th grade- Students completed and turned in their environmental poster project.  HW-write a 1.5 minute speech about issue and organization that is working to eradicate issue.

Fieldtrip-11/4- Atlanta Botanical Garden-$8 Due asap.  We also need 6 chaperones.  Email me if you are interested.

8th grade-took notes on chemical bonding.  Periodic Table Project is Due Tomorrow!

Today in Science

7th graders continue to work on their Environmental Awareness Poster Project.  Posters are due at the end of class tomorrow.

A few reminders:  
-Fieldtrip- 11/4- Atlanta Botanical Garden- permission forms and money due ASAP.  $8.00

Today in Science

7th grade- students worked on researching Question 3 of the Environmental Issues Project.  We will work on Question 4 tomorrow.  All students need a small poster board for their project. All Projects are due on Thursday 10/29.

Upcoming Fieldtrip- We need 6 parent volunteers for our trip to the Atlanta Botanical Garden on 11/4/09.  Please email me if you are interested!  Permission slips will went home today. Cost of trip is $8.

8th grade-  Students worked on the first draft of their Periodic Table of Everyday Objects.  All students should have a sketch of their plan.  We will continue to work on this tomorrow.

Today in Science

7th graders continued to work on their Environmental Issue Project.  Student should have info for the 1st 2 research questions.  We will continue with it, when they return on Monday.

Science Info

Hello All,

I have been unable to access my blog for a week.  I hope your students have been able to keep up with assignments via the board and agenda.  Below is a list of the most recent assignments assigned and/or collected.

8th grade-  Edible Atoms DUE TODAY!  Students received the rubric and project outline on Friday. Students started a new project Today.  Adopt an Element.  Due Friday.

7th grade-  Students received their next project outline......The Environmental Poster Project.  We will work on it today and tomorrow.  Due to the 7th grade trip, it will not be due until the 10/29/09.

Today in Science

7th grade- Students wrote persuasive essays about Predator relationships. 7A will need to write final draft and turn in tomorrow.  Population Density @ Home Due Tomorrow......and a Quiz on relationships.

8th grade- Students worked on atomic structure today.  Quiz tomorrow.

Today in Science

7th grade- Students analyzed another population scenario.  No HW.  Students will work on question 3 in class tomorrow.  FYI-Population Density @ Home project is due Friday!

8th grade- Students practiced analyzing the periodic table and the atoms of elements.  No HW, if finished w/the atomic math challenge.  If not, finish for HW.

Today in Science

7th grade

Students read about the kaibab deer populations and created graphs to show carrying capacity over time.  HW-Analysis questions are due tomorrow.

FYI- POPULATION DENSITY @ HOME LAB IS DUE FRIDAY!

8th grade- Students created atomic models.  Many students didn't finish and need to complete their model for HW.

Today in Science

7th grade- Students worked on their understanding of population density.  7B  calculated the population density of various areas of the school.  7A reviewed population density through reading a CRCT text, discussing limiting factors and identifying Georgia's invasive species.

Population Density @ Home assignment is due Friday!

8th grade-Students  started learning about the Periodic Table.  Questions on the back of the periodic table  student worksheet are due tomorrow.

Today in Science

7th grade-  Students worked on the first couple of questions on an interdisciplinary activity on populations.  Students will continue this assignment in Math on Monday & Tuesday.  No HW

8th grade-  Students took a quiz on elements, compounds, and mixtures today.  No HW.  Monday, we will begin the periodic table.
